TAMPA, FLORIDA
Day 1

Tampa Bay is a convenient embarkation point for those looking for a sunny vacation to the Caribbean. Cruises from Tampa sail to the reef-fringed islands of the Bahamas, and further afield to Mexico’s Costa Maya and pretty Cozumel, as well as colorful Key West and Jamaica. You can join a fun-packed cruise from Tampa to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, too.

Tampa Bay is a lively city ripe for exploration. Spend an afternoon strolling through the historic district of Ybor City or walk along the waterfront and stop for a bite to eat at the trendy Armature Works. Sports fans can catch a game at the Raymond James Stadium, while thrill-seekers can head to Busch Gardens, where the exhilarating roller coasters are guaranteed to get your heart pumping.

Passengers departing on cruises from Tampa Bay will leave from Port Tampa Bay, home to three cruise terminals. Just outside of the cruise terminals is the Channelside district, where you’ll find a handful of shops and restaurants. Tourist information centers, Wi-Fi, and bathrooms are available at the port.

COZUMEL, MEXICO
Day 3

Cruising to Cozumel, Mexico brings you to an enchanting island fringed by dazzling white sand beaches and teeming coral reefs. This is one of the world’s top spots for diving and snorkeling, the underwater world rich in colorful reef fish as well as sea turtles, rays, dolphins, and reef sharks. Beaches like El Cielo and Playa Palancar are some of the most beautiful in the Caribbean.

On your cruise to Mexico, you’ll find a lively culture in Cozumel, whether you’re interested in joining a margarita-making masterclass, shopping in the market in San Miguel for handmade silver jewelry and hammocks, or learning about the rituals and customs of the Maya people who lived here 2,000 years ago. The island’s interior is waiting to be explored, too, with off-road adventures in the rainforest and inviting cenotes for a cooling dip.

Cozumel has a lively culinary scene, with traditional Mexican dishes sitting alongside contemporary international cuisine, from Asian to Italian. Unsurprisingly, the best places are concentrated around San Miguel, the island capital, although you’ll find a beach restaurant or bar on most of the beaches.

After you disembark from the cruise ship, particularly at International Pier, you’ll find duty-free shops and souvenir shacks before you leave the terminal. The Royal Village Shopping Center is also conveniently located near International Pier, where you can purchase handmade goods, jewelry, and other items. San Miguel has plentiful shopping, just two or three miles away from International Pier. Look out for silver jewelry, handmade ceramics, colorful hammocks, beach fashions, and papier-mache ornaments.

BELIZE CITY, BELIZE
Day 4

Belize will transport you to a world of intense beauty, from glossy green rainforests to the technicolor marvels of the world’s second-largest barrier reef. Let the world of the ancient Maya reveal itself as you explore fascinating archaeological sites and sample gourmet chocolate. Listen to the screech of monkeys and the call of tropical birds as you trek rainforest trails.

The star attraction at Belize City is the underwater world, where you can dive, snorkel, or swim among docile sharks and rays. As you explore, open your eyes to the rainbow colors of the reef, teeming with fish in shimmering shades.

Belize’s multicultural vibe is evident in its diverse cuisine, which includes Caribbean, Mexican, Spanish, African, and Mayan influences. Savor fresh seafood specialties, like conch fritters and grilled lobster. Rice and red beans cooked in coconut milk are a staple in Belize.

In the Fort Street Tourism Village, where you’ll disembark your tender, you’ll find duty-free shops, along with locally made chocolate and artisanal jewelry for sale. Look for habanero pepper sauces, hand-woven Mayan baskets, wood carvings, and the local One Barrel Rum.

COSTA MAYA, MEXICO
Day 5

You'll be welcomed by the lush, jungly landscape of Mexico's southeastern Yucatan peninsula. This destination is the gateway to 60 miles of white sand beaches, dazzling coral reefs, and ancient Mayan ruins.

Dive into the clear blue waters or snorkel alongside vibrant sea life. Try your hand at sea kayaking, join the thrill of a banana boat ride, or drift serenely along slow-flowing rivers in a tube. Wander through the sleepy village of Mahahual, where you can immerse yourself in the colorful crafts and tantalizing cuisine of Mexico. Don't forget the atmospheric Mayan antiquities waiting to be explored, such as Kohunlich and Chacchoben, nestled deep in the heart of the rainforest.

Mexico has a rich and diverse cuisine that extends way beyond nachos, tacos, salsa, and guacamole, although all of these are available at Costa Maya and are perfectly tasty. You may find the restaurants within the port cater to more international tastes, with local establishments along the coast packing more of a spicy punch.

Costa Maya offers a vast array of shopping opportunities. Discover elaborate, hand-painted plates, traditional blown-glass pieces, woven Mexican blankets, and beautiful silver and turquoise jewelry.

TAMPA, FLORIDA
Day 8

Tampa Bay is a lively city ripe for exploration. Spend an afternoon strolling through the historic district of Ybor City or walk along the waterfront and stop for a bite to eat at the trendy Armature Works. Sports fans can catch a game at the Raymond James Stadium, while thrill-seekers can head to Busch Gardens, where the exhilarating roller coasters are guaranteed to get your heart pumping.

Once dubbed the “Cigar Capital of the World,” the Ybor City district is rich in history and Latin culture. Stop in one of the area’s many cigar shops and buy a few hand-rolled cigars to take home. Spend the day mingling with locals at one of the craft breweries, or simply stroll the cobblestone streets and admire the façades of this charming neighborhood.

If you’re a fan of Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, then a visit to the awe-inspiring Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg is a must. The museum is home to the largest collection of his art outside of Europe, and exhibits include everything from curious melting clocks to the multi-layered oil, The Hallucinogenic Toreador. Delve deeper into the artist’s mind at Dalí Alive 360°, a spectacular multi-sensory sound and light experience. Don’t miss the Museum Store, packed with Dalí-inspired gifts.

Rated one of the best aquariums in the country, the Florida Aquarium is located just steps away from Tampa’s port area. Here, you can pet stingrays, get up close with African penguins, and even spot dolphins in the wild on a catamaran cruise. The aquarium is so close to the port that you can bring your luggage, which the venue will safely store while you explore.
